Reick named to academic all-league team
ELMHURST, Ill. - The Summit League announced its softball academic all-league team on Tuesday, a list of 10 players that posted at least a 3.0 grade point average and played in at least 50 percent of her team’s games, and South Dakota State senior outfielder Devon Reick made the list, as voted on by the nine institution's faculty athletics representatives and sports information directors.
“I’m so happy for Devon that earning recognition by the Summit League for her accomplishments in the classroom, it’s a well-deserved honor,” head coach Kim Aggabao said. “She’s a great example of a student-athlete, and I'm proud of her for being a wonderful representative of South Dakota State, both on the field and in the classroom.”
An Omaha, Neb., native, Reick posted a 3.33 GPA as a nursing major and earned second team all-league after the season as an outfielder. She ranked fourth in the league and first on her team with 52 hits and posted a .361 batting average with 25 runs scored.
