SDSU tied for 14th at Ram Masters Invite
FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- The Jackrabbit men's golf team is tied for 14th place with Drake University through 36 holes at the Ram Masters Invitational with scores of 298 and 304 (602).
Hosted by Colorado State University, the 54-hole tournament kicked-off Monday and is being held at the 7,121-yard, par-70 Fort Collins Country Club with a field of 15 teams.
Hudson Carpenter is tied for 54th place after rounds of 77 and 72 for a two-round total of 149. The senior carded three birdies in the second round and is 9-over par heading into the final round Tuesday.
Freshman Grant Smith (+9) fired an even-par 70 in the first round, a career-low, but a 79 in round two put Smith at 149 and in a tie for 54th place with fellow Jackrabbit Carpenter.
Ian Rinken (+12) posted scores of 75 and 77 for a two-round total of 152, a 36-hole low. The freshman is tied for 70th place and leads all SDSU golfers with seven birdies in the tourney so far.
Senior Lukas Davison (+16) is tied for 79th place after rounds of 80 and 76 for a 36-hole score of 156.
Dylan Baker (+17) is one stroke behind at 157 and is in 82nd place heading into the third round on Tuesday. The sophomore posted scores of 76 and 81 in the opening two rounds.
Host Colorado State holds a two-stroke lead over Nevada after play on Monday. The Rams scored rounds of 280 and 284 (564), led by Cameron Harrell, who sits atop the player leaderboard.
Harrell posted rounds of 70 and 67 (137) and holds a one-stroke lead over Sacramento State's Luke Kristo (67-71-138) and Cal Poly's Jordan Wright (64-74-138) heading into the last round.
The third and final round begins Tuesday morning. First to tee-off for the Jacks is Baker at 8:35 a.m., followed by Davison at 8:44 a.m., Rinken at 8:53 a.m., Smith at 9:02 a.m. and Carpenter at 9:11 a.m. (all Central time).
