Hanowski repeats on all-Summit team

Senior Beau Hanowski repeated on the first team and Phil Paquette earned second-team honors to represent South Dakota State University on the all-Summit League Baseball Team, wwhich was announced Wednesday night.

An outfielder from Little Falls, Minn., Hanowski led the Jackrabbits with a .315 overall batting average (40-for-127), while adding 16 runs batted in and 17 runs scored. After missing 14 games early in the season due to a shoulder injury, Hanowski ranked among the top hitters in league play, posting a .383 batting average (31-for-81) and .490 on-base percentage.

A sophomore from Luverne, Minn., Paquette was named to the all-league team as a designated hitter. After leading the team in batting for much of the season, he finished the 2012 campaign with a .287 average (52-of-181) with nine doubles, one home run and 27 runs batted in.

Regular season champion Oral Roberts recorded seven first-team selections and swept the top player awards as first baseman Jared Schlehuber was named Summit League Player of the Year, Drew Bowen was selected as Summit League Pitcher of the Year and third baseman Jose Trevino was honored as Summit League Newcomer of the Year. Oakland's John Musachio was named Summit League Coach of the Year.
