Gray wins Jackrabbit World Series in four

Series MVP Jake Ratz went 3-for-4 and drove in three runs to lead the Gray team to a 10-1 victory over the Blue squad Wednesday afternoon to clinch the Jackrabbit World Series three games to one.

Ratz led a 15-hit attack in the intrasquad finale for the Gray squad , which jumped out to a 5-0 lead through four innings.

Freshman Ryan Froom pitched four shutout innings to earn the victory for the Gray team, scattering six hits. Derringer Huff took the loss.

Mitchel Foster, Aaron Machbitz and Cody Sharrow all tallied two hits for the Blue team.

The Jackrabbit World Series concludes the fall practice season. SDSU is scheduled to open the 2014 season with a four-game series Feb. 14-16 at Jackson State (Miss.).
