With showers and thunderstorms prominent in the forecast, the schedule for this week's Summit League baseball series between South Dakota State and IPFW has been revised.

Instead of playing four games over three days, the two teams are now scheduled to play doubleheaders Thursday and Friday at Erv Huether Field on the SDSU campus in Brookings. Thursday's doubleheader will be two nine-inning games, while Friday's twinbill is slated to consist of a nine-inning game followed by a seven-inning contest. Action is slated to start at noon each day.

Should weather alter the schedule Thursday and/or Friday, the teams would attempt to conclude the series on Saturday.

This weekend's series has playoff implications for both teams. SDSU, 32-17 overall, is tied with Oral Roberts atop the Summit League standings at 17-7 in conference play. IPFW 16-31 overall and 11-13 in league play, remains in contention for a berth for in the Summit League postseason tournament as it enters the week a game and a half behind North Dakota State for third place and a game in back of Western Illinois for the fourth and final playoff spot.

The Summit League Championship, presented by American Airlines, is scheduled for May 26-28 in Sioux Falls.
