SOUTH DAKOTA STATE 3, AUGUSTANA 1
Facing three matches against fellow highly ranked opponents in a span of five days, the ninth-ranked South Dakota State University volleyball team kicked off a memorable Top-10 Week with a hard-fought four-game victory over in-state rival and No. 2 Augustana on Oct. 31, 2000.
On a night in which they set a single-match attendance record of 787, the Jackrabbits prevailed 15-6, 8-15, 15-13 and 15-2. With the win, the Jackrabbits pulled to within a match of the North Central Conference leaders with an 11-3 league record, 24-3 overall. Augustana fell into a three-way tie for the NCC lead with Nebraska-Omaha and Northern Colorado at 12-2 in league play, 23-2 overall.
