South Dakota State sophomore outside hitter Ellyce Youngren earned Summit League Co-Player of the Week honors this week, after leading the Jackrabbit volleyball team to wins over Centenary and Oral Roberts.
"Ellyce continues to work hard for us, and it showed this weekend, so this is definitely a well deserved honor," said SDSU head coach Nanabah Allison-Brewer. "We throw new challenges at her each week and she continues to come up big for the program."
The Brookings native earns her first-ever Summit League weekly award after posting 29 kills on the weekend with just two errors in 48 attempts for a .562 hitting percentage. She also led the Jacks with 12 total blocks.
Youngren smacked 10 kills with a .450 hitting percentage in a sweep of Centenary on Friday, and then led all players with 19 kills and a .643 hitting percentage with nine total blocks in a 3-1 win over Oral Roberts on Saturday.
Youngren shares the weekly award with North Dakota State's Lauren McLaughlin.
