The South Dakota State volleyball team secured a berth in next weekend's Summit League Tournament on Saturday with a 3-0 sweep of Centenary in the regular season and home finale.

The Jackrabbit won by the set scores of 25-15, 25-18 and 25-16 to finish the regular season with a 16-13 overall record and a 12-6 record in The Summit League. Centenary ends its final season in Division I with a 3-23 overall record and says goodbye to The Summit league with an 0-18 league record.

Kelli Fiegen led the Jacks with 11 kills, Kaitlin Klingemann added 10, Kelly Herrmann nine and Ellyce Youngren eight kills in the win. The Jacks hit .394 as a team in the win with Youngren leading the way with at .500 (8-0-16), Fiegen hit .471 (11-3-17), Herrmann .421 (9-1-19) and Klingemann .389 (10-3-18).

Shay Birath led the Jacks with 14 digs in the win, while Thyele Rechatiko led the way with 38 set assists. Rechatiko also added five kills.

Stevie Hurlbirt led the Ladies with 10 kills on the night, but also recorded 10 errors in 42 swings for a .000 hitting percentage. She also added 10 digs for the match's only double-double.

The Jackrabbits return to action next weekend in Fargo, N.D. at The Summit League Tournament, but despite securing a berth, the Jacks do not know their first round opponent quite yet. IPFW secured the No. 1 see, while the host Bison secured the No. 2 seed, leaving SDSU with either the No. 3 or No. 4 seed.

If IPFW defeats Southern Utah on Saturday, SDSU would be the No. 3 seed and face the Bison in the semifinals.

If Southern Utah defeats IPFW on Saturday, SDSU would be the No. 4 seed and face the Mastodons in the semifinals.
