Three Jackrabbit standouts hope to earn their stars and stripes on Feb. 25-27, when USA Volleyball holds its annual open tryouts for the U.S. Women's National Team and Associated Training Programs at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Defending Summit League Player of the Year Kelli Fiegen, along with teammates Shay Birath and Ellyce Youngren, who makes the trip for a second straight year, all plan to showcase their skills with the nations best.
"This is a tremendous opportunity for these three student-athletes to spend a weekend competing with the best collegiate volleyball players in the country," SDSU assistant volleyball coach Kristin Belzung said. "Not only do they get a chance to train at an extremely high level, they get to represent South Dakota State University and our volleyball program on a national stage."
All three Jackrabbits need to report to the USOTC no later than Feb. 25, to start training. For more information, click on the link at the top of the page.
