South Dakota State plays its final nonconference match of the season after a pair of key Summit League wins over the Hobo Day weekend, beating Oakland 3-1 on Friday, before downing league-leader IPFW on Saturday in a thrilling 3-2 match.
SDSU entered Friday's match tied with Oakland and North Dakota State for fourth place in The Summit League standings, but a career night from Kelli Fiegen put the Jackrabbits alone in third place, as the senior led the Jacks to a 3-1 win over Oakland on Friday night in Frost Arena.
Fiegen's night included a team-high 17 kills and a career-high 10 block assists, which gives her a third career double-double, her second of the season, and ties the SDSU four-set record for block assists.
Six South Dakota State seniors played their final Summit League match in Frost Arena on Saturday, and they made it a memorable one with a 3-2 win over IPFW on Hobo Day
Led by Fiegen, who posted her second straight double-double with 15 kills and 10 total blocks, the Jacks finished with a 17-12 advantage in total team blocks.
Margit Hansing also posted her second consecutive double-double, finishing with 13 kills to go along with her team and career-high 24 digs. Kelly Herrmann made it three double-doubles for the Jacks with her 10 kills and 19 digs.

FIEGEN CRACKS TOP-10 IN CAREER KILLS - Kelli Fiegen posted 21 kills at Southern Utah on Nov. 3, 2011 to become the 15th member of the SDSU 1,000-Kills Club and just the sixth member to reach the mark as a junior. Now a senior, Fiegen cracked the all-time top-10 in the Jacks win over North Dakota State on Sept. 16, and finished the final home weekend with 1,391 career kills, good for sixth all-time at SDSU.
FIEGEN BLOCKS INTO THE TOP-10 - In addition to her offensive prowess, Kelli Fiegen makes her defensive mark on the block. The senior wrapped up the weekend ranked seventh all-time at SDSU with 109 solo blocks and second all-time with 408 block assists.
FIEGEN TIES BLOCK ASSISTS RECORD - Kelli Fiegen tied the SDSU four-set total blocks record on Oct. 26, when she posted a career-high 10 block assists in the Jacks 3-1 win over Oakland. Fiegen shares the record with Amy Anderson, who recorded two solo blocks and eight block assists at North Dakota State on Nov. 11, 2006.
KLINGEMANN HITS 1,000 KILL MILESTONE - Kaitlin Klingemann needed 11 kills on Oct. 19 at Western Illinois to reach the 1,000 kill milestone. She finished with 14 in the Jacks 3-1 win to become the 16th member of the SDSU 1,000-Kills Club, and enters the week with 1,026 in her career.
BIRATH CHASING ALL-TIME DIGS RECORD - Shay Birath became the 13th member of the SDSU 1,000-Digs Club, and just the fifth member of the club to reach the milestone as a junior, at Oakland on Sept. 24, 2011. She climbed into second all-time on Sept. 22, in a win over Western Illinois, and enters the week with a 1,891 career digs, 39 away from a new school record.
BIRATH SETS FOUR-SET DIGS RECORD - Senior libero Shay Birath recorded 32 digs in the Jackrabbits 3-1 win over Omaha on Oct. 12, which sets a new SDSU four-set record, topping the old mark of 30, set by Samantha Pearson against Montana on Sept. 8, 2007. Birath already holds the school's three-set record, also with 32 digs.
HERRMANN JOINS THE SDSU 1,000-DIGS CLUB - Kelly Herrmann came up one dig shy of the 1,000 dig milestone in the Jacks 3-1 victory over Omaha on Oct. 12, and wasted little time against Western Illinois on Oct. 19 in picking up the one dig she needed to become the 14th player in SDSU history to reach the milestone. She enters the final home match of the season tied for 13th on the lis with 1,051 career digs.

Iowa State Cyclones (13-7, 7-3 Big 12) - Ranked No. 21 in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll, The Cyclones come to Brookings riding a three-match winning streak, after beating No. 17 Kansas 3-1 at home on Wednesday and after downing TCU in straight sets on Saturday in Fort Worth, Texas.
The Series vs. Iowa State - The Cyclones lead the all-time series 3-0, all home matches for the Cyclones, who won 3-1 on Sept. 2, 2005 and on Sept. 9, 2006 before adding a 3-0 win on Sept. 4, 2010.
The Last Meeting: Sept. 4, 2010; Ames, Iowa - South Dakota State dropped its second straight match on Saturday, when the Jackrabbits fell to No. 12 Iowa State on the second day of the Iowa State Challenge.
The loss dropped the Jackrabbits to 3-2 on the season, while the Cyclones improved to 4-1 by the set scores of 25-17, 26-24 and 25-22.
Carly Jenson and Victoria Henson led the Cyclones with 13 kills, Kelsey Petersen added 11 and Jamie Straube 10 kills in the win.
