South Dakota State University student-athletes turned in another successful term in the classroom, finishing the recently completed fall semester with a collective 3.21 grade-point average.

Individually, 68 percent of Jackrabbit student-athletes posted a GPA of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester. Of that group, 134 carried a GPA of 3.5 to 3.99, with 22 recording a perfect 4.0 GPA.

"This fall semester's academic performance continues to reflect the dedication of SDSU athletes and the support given by the SDSU faculty and the Athletic Department to the true meaning of student-athlete," said Chris Chase, who chairs the University's Intercollegiate Athletic Board.

The women's basketball squad recorded the highest team GPA for the semester at 3.67, followed by the men's tennis team at 3.58.
