South Dakota State used a balanced attack to defeat Utah Valley State 3-0 Friday night in College volleyball action in front of 643 fans at Frost Arena.
Emily Rooney paced the Jacks with 12 kills and Kristina Martin added 11 as the Jackrabbits swept the Wolverines.
The Jackrabbits, 8-1 at home this season, jumped out to a 10-4 lead in Game 1, and then went on a 9-0 run to secure the 30-18 win.
Junior Samantha Pearson reached the 1,000 career dig milestone early in Game 2, but the Jacks fell behind 19-12 before going on a 12-2 rung to regain a lead at 24-21, and they never gave it up on their way to a 30-25 win.
The Jacks fell behind on the first point of Game 3, but used a 13-2 run to gain an advantage they never let go, winning game 30-19 to secure the sweep.
Kristie Klusaw tallied 40 set assists for the Jacks, who hit .324 for the match. Lacee Koelliker had 35 set assists for the Wolverines who could only manage a .191 hitting percentage.
Camie Manwill led the 11-9 Wolverines with 14 kills, while Jessica Endres pitched in 13.
The Jackrabbits improve to 16-7 on the season.
South Dakota State returns to action on Sunday at 5 p.m. in Fargo against North Dakota State, and return home Tuesday against Drake at 6 p.m.
