On a day where only seven total events were completed, SDSU earned top-three finishes in two events at Ellig Sports Complex in Fargo, N.D.
Jake Brinkmann opened the scoring for the Jacks with a third-place finish in the hammer throw. Brinkmann’s throw of 186 feet, seven inches was his third-best mark of the season.
Trent Lusignan placed fourth in the 10,000 meter run in 32:14.85.
In the javelin, Arran Davis scored with a seventh-place finish. Davis’ throw of 185 feet, 10 inches was his second-best outdoor mark.
On the women’s side, Amy Paulzine followed up her season-best performance in the javelin last weekend with a second-place finish. Paulzine’s throw was also her third-best of the season at 146 feet, four inches.

Competition opens Friday morning with the continuation of the Decathlon. The first SDSU entry of Day 2 is in the men’s long jump scheduled for 3 p.m.
