WINNIPEG, MANITOBA - The South Dakota State men's basketball team opened its Canadian Tour exhibition season on Monday with a 21-0 run over the University of Winnipeg Wesmen and never looked back in a 105-53 win.
Every Jackrabbit scored in the game, with redshirt freshman Chad White leading the way with 20 points. Senior Clint Sargent added 18. Newcomer Aireus Stephenson and Nate Wolters both scored 13 points, while Dale Moss rounded out the double-digit scorers with 11 points in the win.
Wolters added seven assists to lead the Jacks, while White grabbed a game-high seven rebounds for the Jacks, who won the battle of the boards 56-36.
SDSU started strong, outscoring Winnipeg 29-10 in the first quarter and then finished even stronger with a 31-10 edge in the fourth quarter.
The Jacks return to action north of the border on Tuesday, when they travel across town to play the University of Manitoba Bisons at 7:30 p.m.
After a day off on Wednesday, SDSU plays Winnipeg again on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. before wrapping up the Canadian tour on Friday at Manitoba at 6:30 p.m.
