After missing significant playing time each of her first two seasons, South Dakota State University wing Megan Waytashek has been granted an injury hardship, Summit League officials ruled recently.

"We are excited Megan's petition was approved," Jackrabbit head coach Aaron Johnston said. "All of our student-athletes' time on the court is very precious and it is good to know Megan will have a chance to further enjoy her basketball experience."

A native of Lino Lakes, Minn., Waytashek will have three years of eligibility remaining. Waytashek played in 16 games with one start during her freshman season before suffering a season-ending knee injury in January 2011. She was averaging 4.3 points and 2.8 rebounds per game prior to her injury.

During the 2011-12 season, Waytashek was limited to action in six games, contributing 2.2 points and 2.2 rebounds per game.
