ELMHURST, Ill. --South Dakota State University freshman Kayce Smith was named Tuesday as the Summit League Women's Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week for her peroframnce at last weekend's Minnesota Challenge.

A native of Madison, Wis., Smith recorded three top-four finishes, including an event win, at the multi-team meet. She won the 200-yard breaststroke in 2 minutes, 25.82 seconds, while taking third in the 100 breaststroke in 1:07.28. Smith added a fourth-place finish in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:11.68.

Smith and her Jackrabbit teammates are in training until the Summit League Championships Feb. 20-23 in Rochester, Mich.
