Women’s Basketball Camps Set for June
BROOKINGS, S.D. — After leading the South Dakota State women's basketball team to a 26-10 overall record, a Summit League regular-season title, a run to the semifinals of the Women’s NIT and a school record four postseason games, head coach Aaron Johnson announced today that he and his coaching staff will host four basketball camps running from June 4-25.
The Jacks host their Day Camp June 4-6, Team Camp June 7-8, Individual Skills Camp June 22-24 and Elite Camp June 24-25. All camps will be held at Frost Arena on the SDSU campus.
The Day Camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 4-6 for campers in grades third through sixth. All participants will receive individual instruction and participate in games. The camp costs $95.
June 7-8 will be the Team Camp in the friendly confines of Frost Arena. The cost for a team to participate is $320 with each team guaranteed to play five games in addition to receiving skill instruction.
The Individual Skills Camp June 22-24 is for campers entering grades 7-10. Campers will receive instruction in fundamental skills with special attention given to shooting, ball handling, passing and defense. Participants will have opportunities for five-on-five team competition and games. The camp costs $235 for overnight campers and $190 for commuters.
SDSU concludes its month-long camp schedule June 24-25 with the Elite Camp designed for campers entering grades 10-12. Designed for the advanced camper, this camp will build on skills to compete at the highest level. The camp costs $190 for overnight campers and $150 for commuters.
