COLUMBIA, Mo. – South Dakota State track and field officially kicked off the 2013 outdoor season today (March 21) sending a few distance runners to the Missouri Relays.
Both the men’s and women’s teams competed in the 5k race today.
Cheyanne Bowers and Courtney Neubert finished fourth and fifth respectively with times of 17:44.06 and 17:45.93.
Jenna Grossenburg placed ninth with her time of 18:24.19.
On the men’s side, Trent Lusignan finished second with his time of 14:22.63. His time today is new a personal best and is now sixth overall in SDSU history. His previous personal best was 14:26.88.
Joel Reichow placed seventh with a time of 14:43.88 and Kipp Kinsley took 13th with his time of 15:14.66.
The Jackrabbits will split up next weekend as they compete in three different states. SDSU will compete in the Razorback Spring Invitational, the San Francisco State Distance Carnival, the Stanford Invitational and the Wayne State Sunshine Meet next weekend.
