Three named all-league
The South Dakota State men’s tennis team landed three all-Summit League members after a runner-up regular-season finish.
Boglić posted a 6-9 record at the top spot, 2-2 in The Summit League and 7-10 overall on the season. Boglić was 6-3 in his last 10 matches and won his final match of the regular season. Boglić was named Summit League Men’s Tennis Player of the Week once during his freshman season.
Lawley led the Jacks with a team-best 13 singles wins. His 13 wins were spread out over three positions: 4-1 at No. 2, 6-3 at No. 3 and 3-1 at No. 4 (he was 0-1 at No. 1, also). Lawley was undefeated in league play at 4-0, 7-2 in his last 10 matches and won his last seven matches of the regular season. Lawley was named Player of the Week twice, including the final week of the regular season.
The duo teamed up for a 9-4 record at the top doubles spot, as well.
H. Pereira posted results in four singles positions, but played primarily No. 4 for the SDSU. H. Pereira was 11-9 overall, second-best record on the team, and 3-1 in The Summit League. He was 6-4 at No. 4 and was 7-2 in his last 10 matches, including a four-match winning streak to close out the regular season. The six wins at No. 4 tied Boglić and Lawley for the most at a single position by any Jackrabbit.
H. Pereira also made up half of the No. 3 doubles team that posted an 8-2 overall record and 4-1 Summit record. The team in the final spot was tied for the best record at that spot in the league.
The three honorees are the most in a single season for a Jackrabbit team in school history.
