Soccer to host Jackrabbit Invite
South Dakota and South Dakota State will not play each other this weekend. The Coyotes will return to Brookings on Oct. 11 to play the Jackrabbits.

SDSU is back in Brookings after leaving the University of San Antonio Tournament unbeaten. Nicole Inskeep and the Jackrabbit defense kept Lamar and Sam Houston State off the board in both games.
The Jackrabbit offense combined for 44 shots and the defense only allowed eight shots. Inskeep recorded five saves and posted two shutouts over the weekend.
Alyssa Brazil, Caylee Costello and Darci Miller all scored in the 3-0 win over Lamar. Costello’s goal was the first of her career.
In The Summit League, Brazil ranks third in points (five), fifth in assists (one) and fourth in goals (two). Stacy Guijarro ranks fourth overall in The Summit League with nine shot attempts.
THE WOLF PACK
Nevada is coming into the Jackrabbit Invite with a 1-2 record overall. They split their two games last weekend against Eastern Washington (W, 2-0) and Wright State (L, 1-0).
Chrisalyn Fonte and Mackenzie Ford are leading the team in goals (one) and points (two). Kelsey Quintos has played all three games for the Wolf Pack and has recorded nine saves (.750 save pct.).
The Jackrabbits and Wolf Pack series is tied at one, with the Jackrabbits winning the last matchup in 2010 (3-2).
NIU won their first game of the season last weekend as they defeated Lewis 2-1 (2OT).
Senior Frances Boukidis is leading the Huskies with three points. Cori Frankenburg, who led the team in goals (four), assists (four) and points (12) last year has only played in one game this year and has one shot attempt.
The Huskies will be tough in net as they return all-conference keeper Amy Carr from last year. She won eight games last year.
The Jacks have won both games in the SDSU/NIU series. The two teams last played in 2011 and the Jackrabbits won by a final score of 3-0.
SDSU will travel to Iowa next weekend for a pair of games against Drake and Northern Iowa. The Jackrabbits will play the Bulldogs on Friday, Sept. 13 at 6 p.m. After their game against Drake, SDSU will travel to Cedar Rapids to play the Panthers on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 1 p.m.
