Brookings native Courtney Higgins captures her first career Offensive Player of the Week award after collecting six points in two league wins last week in women's soccer.

Both of her shots resulted in goals, with one coming against UMKC and the other over Southern Utah. The freshman also tallied an assist in each match, while her goal versus the Thunderbirds was the game-winner.

"Courtney has been very explosive coming off the bench," said head coach Lang Wedemeyer.  "It's a credit to her perseverance that she's making such an impact on the team at the end of the season, when it's most needed."

For the year, Higgins has three one goal, one assist matches to give her three goals and three assists.

SDSU (9-6-2, 6-2 Summit League) can lock up at least a share of the Summit League regular season title and the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament with a win against North Dakota State at Fishback Soccer Park, Saturday at 1 p.m.
