On Saturday, Jan. 22, the SDSU softball team invites girls between the ages of 6-12 to join them for a winter skills camps at the Intramural Building, also known as the Barn, on the campus of South Dakota State University.
The first session of the camp begins at 9 a.m. and runs until 12 p.m., with a second session from 2-5 p.m.
Both sessions provide
instruction in pitching, hitting and defensive skills for catchers, infielders
and outfielders. Each session contains the same information, however due to
space limitations they can accommodate no more than 40 participants, so please
register early.
The camps continue on Sunday, Jan. 23,
with a brand new camp created for campers ages 13-18 that includes three
sessions; pitching, strength and conditioning for the softball athlete and
hitting.
Geared towards athletes with several years of playing experience and the desire to play at the collegiate level, the Elite Winter Skills Camp includes instruction from the SDSU softball coaching staff and from SDSU head strength and conditioning coach Nathan Moe.
The elite camp features a pitching and catching session from 9 a.m.-12 p.m., a speed and strength session from 1-3 p.m. and a hitting session from 3:30-6 p.m.
