ELMHURST, Ill. - The Summit League named South Dakota State's Kori Seidlitz its pitcher of the week after leading the Jackrabbits to a 4-1 record last week. The honor not only marks the first weekly award for Seidlitz, but she becomes the first Jackrabbit to earn the honor since SDSU joined the league for the 2008 season.
A freshman from Mountlake Terrace, Wash., Seidlitz went 2-1 in the circle for the Jackrabbits over the week in 18.2 innings pitched, with wins over South Dakota and IUPUI.
For the week, Seidlitz walked seven and struck out 15 batters, including a career-high tying nine in the second game of the doubleheader against IUPUI.
In addition to her pitching, Seidlitz picked-up three hits in 11 at bats and finished the week with a perfect fielding percentage.
Seidlitz and the Jackrabbits hit the road this weekend for the final time this season for a three game Summit League series at Oakland. The Jacks and Golden Grizzlies play a doubleheader on Friday at 1 p.m. ET, followed by a single game on Saturday at noon ET.
