Softball blanked at Nebraska
LINCOLN, Neb. - The host Huskers scored five runs in the fourth inning to salt away an 8-0, five inning win over South Dakota State on Wednesday at Bowlin Stadium in Lincoln, Neb.
The loss drops the Jackrabbits to 4-16 on the season. Nebraska improves to 20-12.
Kelly Kleppin opened the Jackrabbit half of the third inning with a single up the middle to represent the lone SDSU hit on Husker starter Tatum Edwards, who improved to 6-2 on the season with the win.
Kori Seidlitz took the loss for the Jacks in the circle. She pitched three and two-thirds innings, giving up eight runs on six hits, with eight walks and a strikeout. Pam Nicholson pitched a third of an inning in relief, giving up one hit.
The Jacks look to get back on the winning track on Friday, when they play at home for the first time this season against South Dakota in a doubleheader at 2 p.m.
