FARGO, N.D. – A select few Jackrabbits competed in today at the Thundering Herd Classic.
McKenzie Johnson recorded a new personal best with her mark in the weight throw (54’ 06.75”). Johnson took second overall in the meet. She has posted back-to-back second place finishes in the weight throw this year.
Shelby Assmus took fourth and was just shy of her personal best, but she recorded a distance of 53’ 11.00”.
On the men’s side, Ryan Ackman posted a mark of 52’ 06.50" in the weight throw.
Bennett Mercil is sitting in sixth place after today in the Heptathlon; Mercil has 2419 points overall.
Cory Greenway took second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.28.
In other action Luke Leischner posted a time of 49.20 in the prelims in the 400-meter dash at the Husker Invite; his time is currently a team best this year.
Both teams will be back in full action as they compete in their respective meets tomorrow.
