Nik Aamlid joined the South Dakota State development staff in September 2011 as the assistant coordinator of athletic development and special events, where serves as the director of the SDSU Letterwinners Club and manages multiple special events for the SDSU Athletic Department.

Aamlid's primary duties include supporting the efforts of current student-athletes athletically, academically and socially, while fostering a continued relationship with former letterwinners around the nation. Through the support and engagement of past student-athletes, the SDSU Letterwinners Club strives to provide opportunities for current Jackrabbits to continue the tradition of excellence that defines SDSU Athletics.

An SDSU graduate, Aamlid returns to Brookings after earning a master's degree in sport administration from Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn., where he worked as an athletic development assistant from Sept. 2010 through May 2011.

After completing his degree, Aamlid took a position as an athletic development assistant at Vanderbilt University, where he worked with the National Commodore Club before rejoining the Jackrabbits.

A Sioux Falls native, Aamlid spent two years on the Jackrabbit football team before injuries cut his career short. He stayed with the team as a student coach for a season before making the transition to the SDSU Athletic department, where he worked as a marketing and promotions intern while he completed degrees in both consumer affairs and business economics in 2009.

Nik and his wife Stacie (Oistad), who played basketball for the Jacks, live in Brookings with their daughter Ansley.
