Tonight marks the third and final week over the holidays the Jackrabbit Insider is going classic.
The SDSU women's basketball team's 2006-07 season was one for the record books. Despite being a transitioning team, the Jacks made the WNIT and won two games in the event, both in front of record crowds inside Frost Arena.
With a win over nationally ranked USC already behind them, the Jacks were on the verge of a winning streak that would carry them into the WNIT. It all started on a Sunday afternoon in Minneapolis.
Aaron Johnston's squad recorded a final second win over the Big Ten's Minnesota Golden Gophers. The game went down to the wire, with Maria Boever's layup not only beating the buzzer, but causing the NCAA to rewrite the rule books to deal with last second shots.
Witness significant portions of the original regional telecast tonight, along with a Jackrabbit Legends feature on a member of that SDSU squad, Megan Vogel.
The show, which is hosted by Tyler Merriam and is produced in conjuction with Yeager Media Center, can be seen several times throughout the week:
