Two-time national champion wrestler Jeff Hohertz was inducted into the Jackrabbit Sports Hall of Fame on Oct. 17, 2009.
Hohertz bookended his collegiate wrestling career with a pair of NCAA Division II titles at 177 pounds in 1977 and 1981, becoming the first Jackrabbit wrestler to win multiple national championships. He won North Central Conference individual titles three times (1977, 1978 and 1981) en route to an 88-23-1 career record, including a perfect 15-0 dual record as a freshman. At the time he finished his collegiate career, Hohertz ranked fourth on the Jackrabbit career victories list.
A native of Minnetonka, Minn., Hohertz added a fifth-place finish at the 1980 NCAA Division II National Championships to finish his collegiate career as a three-time All-American.
Hohertz was inducted into the Division II Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2000, when SDSU hosted the national meet.
