The South Dakota State strength and conditioning staff selected senior football player Jake Steffen as the 2010-11 SDSU Strength and Conditioning Male Athlete of the Year, while senior volleyball player Ellyce Youngren and senior soccer player Cori Bonte as the female athletes of the year.
The strength and conditioning staff selects the award winners based upon leadership displayed, coachability and consistency with effort and intensity. The staff attempts to award the student-athletes that display those characteristics, as opposed to awarding strictly based on the strength or gifts of the student-athletes.
