Eight South Dakota State University student-athletes have been named recipients of the All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year award from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Earning the awards for their dedication to strength training and conditioning were:
• Eric Cain, baseball;
• Griffan Callahan, men's basketball;
• Nick Flynn, wrestling;
• Kaitlyn Hemmingson, women's swimming;
• Kelli Herman, women's soccer;
• Garret Schrock, men's swimming;
• Jake Steffen, football;
• Ellyce Youngren, volleyball.
Each of the student-athletes was nominated by a member of the Jackrabbit strength and conditioning staff. Nationwide, 225 collegiate and high school athletes from 90 schools received the award. THE NSCA All-American Athlete of the Year Award program is made possible through a grant from Power Systems, Inc., a Knoxville, Tennn.-based fitness product leader.
