Men finish second at championships

ROCHESTER, Mich. -- The South Dakota State University men's swimming and diving team finished second at the Summit League Championships for the second year in a row.

Phil Albu won the 200 backstroke consolation championship with a school record time of 1:50.30. Alex McLain finished sixth in the event with a personal-best time of 1:52.15.

Blake Yeager placed second in the 1,650 freestyle with a personal-best time of 16:05.25. Yeager's 1,000 freestyle time of 9:39.15 broke the school record. Kyle Ochsner finished fourth with a time of 16:13.15.

Shea Patrick placed third in the 200 breaststroke with a personal-best time of 2:03.67.

The 400 freestyle relay of Wil Hogue, Jack Morrow, Albu and Ben Bolinske finished fourth with a time of 3:06.72.

Ben Bolinske finished eighth in the 100 freestyle with a personal-best time of 47.19 seconds.

Clark Kocourek finished fifth in three-meter diving with 268.45 points. Brad Schoreit finished eighth with 253.40 points.

The men finished second with 510 points. Oakland won the championship with 1,038 points.

Albu, Bolinske, Yeager, Hogue, Ochsner, Patrick, Schoreit and Garth Wadsworth were named to the Men's All-League Team.

Clark Kocourek and Brad Schoreit will compete at NCAA Zones on March 11-13 in Houston, Texas.
