ELMHURST, Ill. — South Dakota State University swimmer Chris Schreier has been selected as Summit League Athlete of the Month for his accomplishments in the pool during November.

A freshman from Portage, Ind., Schreier won all five individual races in which he competed during two duals in November. He also was a member of two first-place relay teams during the month. Four of those races resulted in school records, while one set a new pool record.

In a two-point loss to Wisconsin-Green Bay on Nov. 5, Schreier won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:45.02 and set a school record time of 1:51.96 in the 200 butterfly, then the top time in the league. He was also on the winning 400 medley relay team that set a school record.

A two-time Athlete of the Week in November, Schreier set school records in the 100 fly (50.96 seconds) and 200 medley relay (1:36.04) in a victory over South Dakota on Nov. 20. He also set a pool record in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:06.88. The 100 fly and 400 IM times were second in the league during the month. Schreier also won the 200 freestyle against USD, touching the wall with a time of 1:43.78.

For the year, Scheier is undefeated in dual meets in the 200 free, 100 fly and 200 fly events.
