Schoreit breaks school record

BROOKINGS, S.D. -- Senior Brad Schoreit broke the school record in 3-meter diving as the men's swimming and diving team defeated the University of South Dakota 189-108 Friday afternoon at the HPER Center Pool.

The men won 12 of the 16 events.

Schoreit's won the 3-meter diving with a school-record score of 292.58. Schoreit also won the 1-meter diving with a personal-best score of 274.81.

Shea Patrick won three individual events. Patrick won the 100-yard breaststroke in 59.17 seconds, 200-yard breaststroke in 2:11.88 and the 200-yard individual medley in 1:59.18. Patrick was also part of the winning 400-yard medley relay of Phil Albu, Garth Wadsworth and Wil Hogue, which clocked in at 3:28.80.

Kyle Ochsner won the 500-yard freestyle in 4:45.73 and the 1,000-yard freestyle in 9:53.13.

Wil Hogue won the 100-yard freestyle in 46.82 seconds and the 200-yard freestyle in 1:44.86.

Ben Bolinske won the 50-yard freestyle in 21.38 seconds and Phil Albu won the 100-yard backstroke in 52.41 seconds.

Clark Kocourek finished second in 1-meter and 3-meter diving with scores of 274.13 and 250.73, respectively.

The men's swimming and diving team will be in Minneapolis next for Minnesota Invitanioal on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1.
