Lawley named Academic All-League
South Dakota State men's tennis student-athlete Parker Lawley was named to the Men’s Tennis Academic All-Summit League Team.
Lawley, fresh off of his all-league award, led the Jackrabbits on the court with a team-best 13 singles wins. He was undefeated in league play at 4-0 and won his last seven matches of the regular season. Lawley was named Player of the Week twice, including the final week. He was also 10-11 in doubles.
In the classroom, Lawley posted the best grade point average on the team and one of the best in The Summit League at 3.977 in mechanical engineering.
Selections were voted on by Faculty Athletic Representatives and Sports Information Directors at member institutions. The honor combines academic and athletic achievements.
To be eligible for Academic All-League, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution (freshmen and first-year transfers are ineligible) and participated in 50 percent of his team's competitions.
