ELMHURST, Ill. -- The Summit League has released its all-league swimming & diving teams and South Dakota State had 17 student-athletes honored for recording top-three finishes at the championships last weekend in Indianapolis.
On the women's side, the Jacks had nine swimmers make the cuts for their respective performances, highlighted by Nicole Grimit and Andee Budahl, who were named all-league in three events.
The Jackrabbit women placed second in the team race.
Grimit and Budahl were part of the second-place 800 freestyle relay team. Grimit also had second-place finishes in the 400 free relay and the 200 free, while Budahl placed second in the 200 fly and third in the 400 IM. Grimit's time in the 200 free was a school record, as was Budahl's in the 400 IM.
Other members of the 800 free relay team included Julia Bodnaruk and Hadlie Overhue. Bodnaruk, Devonne Dalin and Kaylin Caron were also on the 400 free relay squad - both were school records.
Dalin, Caron, Overhue and Emily Campbell were also named all-league for a third-place finish in the 400 medley relay.
Campbell also received all-league honors for her championship efforts in the 200 breaststroke. Campbell touched in 2:14.51, just ahead of Denver's Amanda Sanders, who finished in 2:14.52.
Trina Young and Emmalee Wright were also recognized as all-league, as they tied for third in the 200 fly.
On the men's side, eight Rabbits received all-league honors as the Jacks finished in third place in the team race.
Ben Bolinske recorded top-three finishes in the 200 and 800 free relays, both of which were school records, along with a runner-up finish in the 50 free. The 200 free relay team won the Summit League title with a school record time of 1:22.31. Bolinske was joined by Daniel Jacobson, Phil Albue and Wil Hogue. Also joining Bolinske and Jacobson in the 800 free relay was Garth Wadsworth and Blake Yeager. The Jacks took third in the event.
Bolinske broke the school record in the 50 free with a time of 20.35, good for second place.
On the boards, Connor Florand won the conference championship with a league-record dive of 342.90 on the one-meter board. Clark Kocourek also placed second on the three-meter board.
