DES MOINES, Iowa - The South Dakota State men's and women's track and field teams opened up competition at the Drake Relays Thursday in Des Moines, Iowa.
The 4x1,600-meter relay team, consisting of Erin Hargens, Danielle Burke, Tera Potts and Krista Creager, turned in a 12th-place finish with a time of 20 minutes 45.37 seconds, the second-fastest time at SDSU.
Greg Beesley finished the 10,000 meters in 30:42.66 for 10th place and Anthony Bongard followed in 25th with a time of 31:37.22.
Rounding out the day's competitors is Michael Krsnak in the 5,000 meters. His time of 14:24.32 is ranked seventh at SDSU and good for 12th place at the Relays.
The Jacks continue the weekend with the Drake Relays Friday and Saturday in Des Moines, Iowa.
