A senior from Rapid City, Jasinski earned recognition on the 14-member team with a 3.78 grade-point average while majoring in electrical engineering. Besides his academic accomplishments, Jasinski excelled in the field events during his career at SDSU, winning the high jump and placing second in the triple jump in earning Field MVP honors at the 2011 Summit League Outdoor Championships. He competed in both events at the NCAA West Preliminaries last week, narrowly missing a berth in the NCAA Championships with a 13th-place effort in the high jump. Jasinski holds school records in the indoor heptathlon and high jump both indoors and outdoors. In addition, Jasinski has been named to all-academic teams by The Summit League and the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Jasinski is the third Jackrabbit student-athlete to be honored as an Academic All-American during the 2010-11 academic year, joining football players Kyle Minett (first team) and Tyler Duffy (second team).
