Jasinski awarded Postgraduate Scholarship
South Dakota State University track and field standout Ben Jasinski has added another award to his growing list of accolades by being named the recipient of a $7,500 NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship.
A Rapid City native, Jasinski also earned recognition on Capital One Academic All-America Men's Track and Field/Cross Country Third Team with a 3.78 grade-point average while majoring in electrical engineering. Besides his academic accomplishments, Jasinski excelled in the field events during his career at SDSU, winning the high jump and placing second in the triple jump in earning Field MVP honors at the 2011 Summit League Outdoor Championships. He competed in both events at the NCAA West Preliminaries last week, narrowly missing a berth in the NCAA Championships with a 13th-place effort in the high jump. Jasinski holds school records in the indoor heptathlon and high jump both indoors and outdoors. In addition, Jasinski has been named to all-academic teams by The Summit League and the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
