South Dakota State's men's track and field jumper Jared Vlastuin repeated as long jump champion at the Outdoor Championships...
Vlastuin won with a mark of 25 feet, four inches, and broke the school record by two inches and the stadium record by nearly one foot. The distance was best by nearly 10 inches.
Vlastuin posted the mark in the preliminaries and it held up for the win.
The win adds to an already impressive season in which Vlastuin earned
Male Field Championship MVP honors for the 2012 Summit League Indoor Track
& Field Championships with wins in the high jump and triple jump, and a second-place finish in the long jump.
Vlastuin won the long jump at The Summit League 2011 Outdoor Championships with a mark of 25 feet, two inches, the previous school record.
