South Dakota State men's track and field senior Jared Vlastuin received Male Field Championship MVP of the 2012 Summit League Outdoor Track & Field Championships...
Vlastuin won the long jump and placed third in both the high jump and triple jump.
Vlastuin repeated as long jump champion at the Outdoor Championships. Vlastuin won with a mark of 25 feet, four inches, broke the school record by two inches and the stadium record by nearly one foot. The distance was best by nearly 10 inches.
In the triple jump, the mark of 46 feet, 10 and one-fourth inches is a season-best for Vlastuin, who only competed in the triple jump once this outdoor season prior to this weekend.
In the high jump, Vlastuin tied a season-best with a mark of six feet, 11 inches.
The award completes a season sweep for Vlastuin, who was named Male Field Championship MVP of the 2012 Summit League Indoor Track & Field Championships earlier this year.
