SDSU, KELOLAND ink media deal
South Dakota State University Athletics and KELOLAND Television announced Tuesday a partnership to air “The Jackrabbit Insider,” beginning in September.
“KELOLAND Television is pleased to join with the state’s first Division I school, South Dakota State University, to present ‘The Jackrabbit Insider,’ ” said Jay Huizenga, vice president and general manager of KELO. “ ‘The Jackrabbit Insider’ will air in high definition statewide for the first time. KELOLAND TV is the only television station in the state with this capability.”
The weekly half-hour show, hosted by Tyler Merriam, will be broadcast at 10:30 p.m. Sundays on MyUTV and at 11 p.m. Sundays on KELO-TV, starting Sept. 1. It will also air on KCLO-TV in Rapid City at 10 p.m. Mountain Time on Sundays. MyUTV is cable channel 10 in most areas and 11.2 over the air.
“The Jackrabbit Insider” can be viewed online at GoJacks.com, the official website of SDSU Athletics, starting on Mondays.
As part of the agreement with KELOLAND, “The Jackrabbit Insider” will now air year-round. During the academic year, the show will include highlights from Jackrabbit sporting events, interviews with coaches and student-athlete features. Historical features will fill the summer schedule.
“Teaming with KELOLAND is a great way to showcase Jackrabbit Athletics for 52 weeks a year,” South Dakota State director of athletics Justin Sell said. “We are excited that we will be able to offer high-definition coverage to all of South Dakota and throughout the large KELOLAND footprint.”
“The Jackrabbit Insider” is produced at South Dakota State University’s Yeager Media Center in cooperation with the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication.
