ELMHURST, III. – Announced by the Summit League today (Friday, Nov. 9), Michael Krsnak was named Male Athlete of the Month for October.

Krsnak found great success in the month of October after he was crowned the 2012 Men’s Cross Country Champion and leading his team to its third team title in four years.  The senior won the 8k league race with a time of 25:06.4, four seconds ahead of the runner-up, and was named the Championship MVP.  Earlier in the month, he posted a ninth-place finish at the Chile Pepper Invite with a 10k time of 30:37.7.  He was one-of-two runners not from a BCS Conference school to finish in the top 10.

During the year, Krsnak won two meets and claimed two Athlete of the Week awards. Later today, Krsnak and the rest of the Jackrabbits will be competing at the NCAA Midwest Regionals in Springfield, Mo.

The 10k race is scheduled for a start time of 1:15 p.m.
