Following a strong performance at the Ron Pynn Invitational Cross Country Meet, the South Dakota State cross country teams travel to Minneapolis, Minn., to run in the OZ Memorial.

The OZ Memorial is hosted by the University of Minnesota and is set to begin at 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9.

Last week at the Ron Pynn Invite, senior Greg Vollmer set the pace in the men's 8k run and was the individual champion with a time of 25 minutes and 31.70 seconds. Vollmer was first place by over 30 seconds. Freshman Trent Lusignan came in second-place with a time of 26:03.42. Lusignan was followed closely by junior Jared Ailts, who finished in 26:07.55. Senior Kyle Schmidt finished in fifth-place at 26:26.65.

In the women's 5k run, junior Erin Hargens was the individual champion with a time of 18 minutes and 52.40 seconds. Hargens was followed closely by fellow teammate and junior Tera Potts, who ran the course in 18:56.18.

Both teams finished in first place out of four teams.

Both teams look to have continued success this weekend.
