South Dakota State University running back Kyle Minett has been named Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his game-winning performance in the Jackrabbits' 50-48 come-from-behind victory over Stephen F. Austin (Texas) on Sept. 27.

A sophomore from Ruthton, Minn., Minett rushed a career-high 33 times for 103 yards and three second-half touchdowns, including the game-winning 1-yard TD on the final play of the game. Minett scored on runs of 5, 1 and 1 yards and also caught seven passes for 92 yards as SDSU rallied from a 34-6 third-quarter deficit. He has scored a touchdown in all five games this season.

The rally from 28 points down marked the largest comeback in the league’s 24-year history and also is believed to be the biggest comeback in the 111-year history of Jackrabbit football.

SDSU, 3-2 overall, hosts nationally ranked McNeese State (La.) in the 95th Hobo Day game Saturday. Kickoff is slated for 2 p.m. at Coughlin-Alumni Stadium.
