TAMPA, Fla. — Former South Dakota State wide receiver Dale Moss has formally accepted an invitation to play in the 87th East-West Shrine Game later this month.
A Brandon native, Moss will be the first Jackrabbit to play in the prestigious college all-star game. In his lone season playing football at SDSU, the former basketball player earned second-team all-Missouri Valley Football Conference honors after recording 61 receptions for 949 yards and six touchdowns. He also was honored on the MVFC All-Newcomer Team.
Moss is scheduled to report to team headquarters on Jan. 14, with the first team practice scheduled for Jan. 16. During the week, players will be evaluated by NFL scouts and also will participate in a visit at Shriners Hospital in Tampa.
The game is scheduled for 3 p.m. Central Time on Saturday, Jan. 21 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla., and will televised on the NFL Network. Fans can purchase tickets for the January 21, 2012 game online at www.shrinegame.com, www.ticketmaster.com, or by phone at (727) 342-5777.
