A year ago, Dale Moss was wrapping up his first spring as a member of the South Dakota State University football team. Later this week, Moss will likely be on a National Football League roster.
The NFL draft runs Thursday through Saturday and numerous draft projections have Moss as a late-round pick after putting up impressive numbers during a Pro Day workout in Vermillion in March. Even if his name isn't called during the draft, the wide receiver is expected to sign with a team as a free agent shortly thereafter.
During his lone season in a Jackrabbit uniform, Moss tied for the team lead with 61 receptions and tallied a team-high 949 yards with six touchdowns. A second-team all-Missouri Valley Football Conference selection, Moss recorded at least five catches in each of the team's last nine games of the season and crossed the 100-yard mark four times. He was named to the MVFC All-Newcomer Team and also was selected to play in the East-West Shrine Game.
