NSCA honors 12 Jackrabbits

The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) recently honored 12 Jackrabbits with the 2014 All-American Athlete Award.

Nominated by the strength and conditioning coaches at South Dakota State, the award recognizes the student-athletes’ athletic accomplishments and their dedication to strength and conditioning while maintaining academic prominence.

“These student-athletes work hard all day at school, practice and in competition, and then get up early in the morning to get better in the weight room, and to see them succeed at all of his speaks highly of them and of South Dakota State Athletics,” Assistant AD for strength and conditioning Nathan Moe said. “My staff and I are excited for all of them to receive this award.”

The 12 honorees come from seven different sports and include the following student-athletes:

Vince Benedetto – Football
Taylor Gibson – Football
Brandon Hubert – Football
Taylor Suess – Football
Winston Wright – Football
Tara Heiser – Women’s Basketball
Steph Paluch – Women’s Basketball
Aaron Machbitz – Baseball
Laura Dunlavy – Equestrian
Sammy Bingham – Softball
Kaylin Caron – Swimming and Diving
Lexi Fowler – Volleyball
