Editor's Note: Throughout the 2012-13 athletics season, Jackrabbit Athletics will spotlight 40 of the top moments in the 40-year history of Frost Arena. This week's segment focuses on the 2000 volleyball  regular season matchup between SDSU and Augustana.

SOUTH DAKOTA STATE 3, AUGUSTANA 1
Facing three matches against fellow highly ranked opponents in a span of five days, the ninth-ranked South Dakota State University volleyball team kicked off a memorable Top-10 Week with a hard-fought four-game victory over in-state rival and No. 2 Augustana on Oct. 31, 2000.

On a night in which they set a single-match attendance record of 787, the Jackrabbits prevailed 15-6, 8-15, 15-13 and 15-2. With the win, the Jackrabbits pulled to within a match of the North Central Conference leaders with an 11-3 league record, 24-3 overall. Augustana fell into a three-way tie for the NCC lead with Nebraska-Omaha and Northern Colorado at 12-2 in league play, 23-2 overall.

Shauna Sturm powered a career-high 34 kills and Rose Ebnet tied a career high with 31 kills to lead the Jackrabbit offense. Angie Rime and Alison Schuster each tallied seven kills. Rime added a career-high 72 set assists and Sturm had six blocks.

For Augustana, Lori Fossum paced the Vikings with 21 kills as she topped the 1,000-mark for her career. Lindsay Voss added 20 kills, while Sara Larson and Katy Peterson each tallied 13. Kari Peterson tallied 62 set assists.

Nine different players recorded double figures in digs, including a match-high 28 from Ebnet. Liz Archer tied her career-high with 20 digs, while Rime added 16 and freshman Alissa Tepley contributed 13.

Coach Mary Byrne's team continued its Top-10 Week by defeating seventh-ranked Northern Colorado and sixth-ranked Nebraska-Omaha to earn a share of its first NCC title.
