South Dakota State University forward Jennifer Warkenthien has been named Summit League Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the third week in a row, league officials announced Tuesday.

A 6-foot senior from Willow Lake, Warkenthien averaged 27.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, one assist, one steal and one blocked shot per game in two Jackrabbit victories. She also shot 60.6 percent (20-of-33) from the floor, 57.1 percent (4-of-7) from behind the arc and 73.3 percent (11-of-15) from the line as SDSU took over sole possession of first place in the league standings.

Warkenthien opened the week by tying a career high with 29 points against Oakland (Mich.) on Jan. 31, capping her ninth double-double of the season with 12 rebounds. Versus IPFW on Feb. 2, Warkenthien tallied 26 points and added nine rebounds.

In the five-game span in which she has won the three weekly awards, Warkenthien has averaged 25.2 points and 8.6 rebounds per game, while shooting 61.4 percent (43-of-70) from the field, 53.3 percent (8-of-15) from three-point range and 82.1 percent (32-of-39) at the free throw line.

SDSU, 21-2 overall and 10-1 in The Summit League, returns to action Saturday at Western Illinois. Tipoff is slated for 4:30 p.m. in Macomb, Ill.
