SIOUX FALLS, SD Kansas State tied the school record with seven home runs three of them by Jared Goedert as the Wildcats defeated South Dakota State- 21-5 Tuesday night at Sioux Falls Stadium.
Goedert, who entered the game with seven homers for the season, hit a two run homer in the seven-run third, added a three-run homer in the fourth, and led off the sixth with a solo shot.
Byron Wiley homered twice, a three-run blast in the third and a solo in the fifth.
The record-tying four-bagger was a two-run job by Joe Roundy in the seventh.
Korby Mintken had two of SDSUs hits while Jake Rogers had a homer.
KSU is now 27-20-2 while SDSU is 21-26.
The teams will meet again Wednesday in a 3 p.m. start at the Birdcage.
